One clear fixed price
No hourly billing and no surprise invoices — a single, transparent fee. A fraction of the cost of full estate administration, so more of the estate stays where it belongs: with the family.
The costs every estate has, shown up front
Our fee is one clear price. Beyond it, every estate has a few unavoidable costs — whoever handles it. We show them here so there are no surprises later. These are paid from the estate, not from your own pocket.
- Probate application fee£300, rising to £526 from 13 July 2026
Paid to the Probate Registry when you apply for the Grant. No fee for estates of £5,000 or under.
- Certified death certificatesabout £11 per certified copy
Most estates order around 5–6 — most banks and providers want to see their own copy, and ordering together is quicker than one at a time.
- Property valuation (where there is property)£250–£500
A RICS “Red Book” valuation is expected where the estate may owe inheritance tax; estate-agent appraisals can be enough for clearly tax-free estates.
- Section 27 notices£150–£300
Covers The London Gazette and a local newspaper notice — these protect you personally from unknown-creditor claims.
Typical, approximate figures to help you plan — not a quote, and not part of any calculation. Court fees and other charges can change over time.
